A Life of Purity, Austerity & Unbroken Spiritual Service

“The end of a divine era in the Daivi Sampad Mandal” — Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji

Rishikesh, 2 December — Today, the Parmarth Niketan family stands immersed in immense grief, deep sorrow, and a profound sense of loss.

The divine departure of Pujya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Asanganand Saraswati Ji Maharaj has left the Sant Samaj, the Daivi Sampad Mandal, and the entire Sanatan world in mourning.

His divine presence, vision, blessings and spiritual radiance shaped an entire era. With his journey to the divine abode, it feels as though a luminous age has come to an end.

With a voice choked in emotion, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj said, “The passing of Pujya Swami Asanganand Ji Maharaj is truly the passing of an era. He was a rare, radiant tapasvi, an enlightened seer, and a karmayogi saint of unparalleled depth.”

He was not just a guardian of the sannyas tradition, but the living embodiment of compassion, purity, service, and transcendental wisdom.

His simplicity, gentleness, and divine grace will continue to guide us forever.

During the special Ganga Aarti dedicated to him, saints, mahamandaleshwars, acharyas, Parmarth Gurukul acharyas, and the Rishikumars offered their humble salutations with deep gratitude and reverence.

Pujya Swami Ji’s life was a shining testament to Advaita, Vedantic study, devotion, penance, and inner illumination. Soft-spoken yet profoundly knowledgeable, his very silence was a teaching; his life itself was a scripture.

Saints shared, “His words carried the depth of the scriptures, the discipline of sannyas, and a heart overflowing with divine compassion.”

His departure is not just the loss of a saint, but the gentle closing of a sacred chapter — and the opening of a new inspiration for generations to come. Saints never truly leave; they only shift from the seen to the unseen. Their blessings remain eternal.

Present on the occasion were Swami Shukdevanand Trust Trustee Shri V. K. Maheshwari Ji, Shri Raman Arora Ji, Sadhvi Abha Saraswati Ji, Shri Ramanant Tiwari Ji, Yogacharya Shri Vimal Badhawan Ji, Shri Arun Saraswat Ji, all acharyas, Rishikumars, and the entire Parmarth Niketan family who bowed in deep gratitude.

May we all carry forward his teachings, simplicity, devotion, and the sanctity of his extraordinary spiritual legacy.

Pujya Swami Ji Maharaj — your blessings shall remain with us for ages and ages to come.

Today, local shopkeepers of Ram Jhula and Swargashram also kept their markets closed in heartfelt tribute.
